About

Groundworks Collaborative Theater was founded to create space for thoughtful training, meaningful collaboration, and the development of theatrical work built with care. We believe theater is learned through practice, curiosity, and shared process, and that artists grow best in environments that value both rigor and support.

Groundworks brings together developing artists and experienced theater-makers in shared classrooms and rehearsal spaces, creating opportunities to train, experiment, and build work together. Our programs serve students, emerging artists, and professionals seeking serious engagement with craft in an environment that encourages both discipline and joy in the work.

Groundworks is led by Eric Feldman, a theater educator, director, and producer with nearly 30 years of production experience. Eric spent more than a decade teaching and directing high school theater programs, helping students discover both artistic voice and collaborative practice. He is also a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York, an organization dedicated to developing new work and supporting playwrights and theater artists.

At Groundworks, education and production are not separate pursuits. Training informs performance, and performance deepens training. By bringing artists at different stages together, we aim to build a community where students, educators, and professionals grow alongside one another while creating work that is thoughtful, challenging, and artistically alive.

“Eric Feldman is a wonderfully supportive and welcoming mentor. Without his guidance, I would not have stayed in theatre. His creativity and instincts are unmatched.”
